I’ve always loved making up stories and coming up with ideas that could be used in stories. When I was a senior in high school, we had this old lady for an English teacher and she was a tough teacher. We would show up and she would spring an essay on us to be finished before end of class.
That was always my favorite day because I was good at coming up with things off the top of my head. (Now is a little bit harder since my health has gone downhill and I have problems with memory and brain fog.) Well anyways, one day this tough old lady teacher came up to me after one of our pop essays and told me I was a good writer. I was so happy about that because I knew she wouldn’t just say that.
I have written a lot of different things in an attempt to start on a book or short story in the past, but never seem to come back to finish them.
I’m hoping that after the job I have now ends, I can focus more on my writing and maybe one day eventually write a book I am happy with and actually finish it.
I was thinking of starting to write on my blog, maybe a mini book, to see what people thought of my style of writing; hopefully get some feedback and learn from that to make something better.
My only hesitation is not knowing how on time or often I would be able to release new chapters or whatever they would be. I don’t want to start something and then wait too long to keep coming up with more of the story.
I always thought if I ever tried to get a book published, I would have to be done with the basics of the story first because I don’t think I could handle the pressure of being on a deadline without knowing how it the story would go.
If I decide to do this, I will have to think of a story I could work on. I like writing fantasy/adventure type stories but I love reading mystery/crime books. I may try to combine the two in a way if I can figure out a story line.
What do you think about this idea? Is it terrible? What genre do you enjoy reading? Do you have any tips for a writer trying to get back into writing? Would you be interested in reading a story on a “chapters released as I write them” basis?
Let me know what you guys think! ❤
